Tri-Counties Rank High In State When It Comes To Charitable Giving

The Tri-Counties rank in the top 20 counties in the state when it comes to generosity.

A new survey ranks Ventura County as 9th in the state, San Luis Obispo County 12th, and Santa Barbara County 18th when it comes to charitable giving.

The financial technology company SmartAsset.com looked at the percentage of income in the counties coming from charitable giving, and the proportion of people who made charitable contributions.

Using a formula involving the different factors, the survey determined Ventura County residents on average give 1.52% of their income to charity.

By the way, Marin County topped the list.
