South Coast Congresswoman Proposes Bill To Help Children Of Disabled Veterans

A Ventura County congresswoman has reintroduced a bill which would allow the children of disabled veterans to get VA health care until they are 26 years old.

Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village authored the legislation.  Brownley says it would give these families the same coverage required under the Affordable Care Act for private sector insurance.

Currently, children of disabled veterans lose eligibility for VA healthcare at 18 if they aren’t in college, or at 23 otherwise.
