Two Arrested In Ventura County After Police Say They Used Stroller To Steal Baby Formula From Stores

A couple has been arrested after sheriff’s deputies say they were going into stores in Ventura County with an empty stroller, and using it to steal huge amounts of baby formula.

Officers say Isaac Hernandez and Thalia Ruiz-Desoto of Northridge were arrested after they left a Camarillo store with dozens of cans of the expensive formula hidden in the stroller.

Deputies say they used the stroller as a decoy.  They say the two committed  similar crimes at stores in Newbury Park and Westlake Village.

Nearly 90 cans of formula were recovered.  The officers say while the couple had an infant they were apparently trying to feed, the couple was stealing the formula in large quantities and also selling it.
