Firefighters Quickly Control Brush Fire Which Threatened Motel On Central Coast

A brush fire burned in the Los Alamos area of Santa Barbara County Saturday afternoon, briefly threatening some buildings.

Santa Barbara County firefighters were able to quickly stop a brush fire off of Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County which briefly threatened a motel.

The fire started at around 3 Saturday afternoon, in the Los Alamos area.  The blaze moved up a hill towards a motel which has been in the community for decades.  Santa Barbara County firefighters aided by helicopter water drops got the upper hand on the six acre blaze in about an hour.

No structures were damaged.  There's no word on the cause of the blaze.
