Teen Tests Postive For Coronavirus At Juvenile Hall Facility On Central Coast
A teenager has tested positive for coronavirus at a juvenile justice facility on the Central Coast. The Santa Barbara County Probation Department is reporting that it happened at Santa Maria Juvenile Hall.
The Probation Department has a COVID-19 management plan in place. As part of the plan, all newly booked youths are tested. Also, they are put in an area of the facility where they undergo a 14 day precautionary quarantine.
The case was caught during the screening process, so the more than two dozen other youths at the facility weren’t exposed to the virus.
The teen had no fever, or symptoms. But, as a precaution the youth was transferred to a separate medical housing unit for quarantine.
