Former Head Of South Coast Non-Profit Sentenced For Theft From Organization

The former head of a community festival on the South Coast has been sentenced to 90 days in custody after prosecutors say he stole more than $45,000 from the non-profit organization.

Nathaniel Hunnicutt was president of the Camarillo Fiesta Association, which hosts the city’s annual Fiesta celebration.  Prosecutors say he stole more than $30,000 from the Association’s bank account, and more than $12,000 from the 2017 Fiest event.

The 38 year old man returned more than $30,000 before the theft was discovered.

Hunnicutt, who now lives in Ohio, pled guilty to felony grant theft.  He received a 90 day sentence with three years probation.  Prosecutors say he had already paid more than $20,000 in restitution to the Camarillo non-profit.
