Santa Barbara County firefighters battle a 5+ acre brush fire in the More Mesa area Friday. No homes were damaged

It’s been a busy Friday for firefighters on the South Coast. Ventura County firefighters have 30% containment of the Lime Brush Fire. It’s a nearly 900 acre blaze burning near Lake Piru. The fire started Wednesday afternoon, and forced the evacuation of a campground at the lake. No structures have been damaged.

Firefighters have fully contained another Ventura County blaze. The Elizabeth Fire also started on Wednesday, and burned 289 acres of brush between Ventura and Santa Paula. No structures were damaged.

And, Santa Barbara County firefighters knocked down a fire Friday in the More Mesa area.  The fire briefly threatened some homes, but it was stopped before it could cause damage. It burned more than five acres of brush.
