A brush fire has burned about 50 acres of brush in Ventura County, putting up a plume of smoke visible for miles.
The blaze is burning in the hills northeast of Ventura, between Ventura and Santa Paula. It's near Elizabeth Road. No homes are threatened, and no evacuations have been ordered. Some agricultural buildings are in danger, but firefighters are on scene protecting them.
Firefighters on the ground are being aided by helicopters, and air tankers. The fire is in an area which was burned by the 2017 Thomas brush fire, so the brush in the area is light. There's no word on the cause of the fire, which started at about 10:30 Wednesday morning.
