Woman Arrested For Arson Attack On South Coast

A woman has been arrested for an arson attack in Ventura County.

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say that on May 14th, someone intentionally started a dumpster fire on the 400 block of Las Posas Road in Camarillo.

It spread to a nearby electrical shed, and caused $50,000 in damage before it was extinguished.

Investigators say surveillance video from a nearby camera confirmed the fire was intentionally set.

Detectives say from the video, they recognized a woman who had been cited for an unrelated crime earlier in the day in Camarillo.

They arrested Ashley Sims of Los Angeles on an arson charge.
