South Coast City Makes Face Coverings Mandatory For Business Employees, Customers

A South Coast city is ordering employees and customers in the community to mask up against coronavirus. The Goleta City Council approved a resolution requiring masks, scarves, or any other fabric covering over noses and mouths.

The City Council’s action requires Goleta’s businesses to ban entry to anyone who isn’t wearing a covering. It also makes businesses provide them to employees.

City officials say they will seek voluntary compliance, but businesses which refuse to comply could have their business licenses suspended, and their doors closed.
