Three people die in a traffic collision on Highway 154 Friday afternoon

A woman, and two children are dead following a collision on a Santa Barbara County highway.  It happened just before 5 Friday night, on Highway 154 near Cold Springs Bridge.  CHP officers say a westbound car crossed the highway's center lanes, and hit an oncoming eastbound car.

A SUV also headed eastbound then smashed into the car which had been hit.  The two eastbound vehicles involved in the crash then caught on fire.  All three people who died were in the car which was hit head on.  Their names haven't been released yet.

CHP officers say the driver of the car which caused the collision was seriously injured.  The driver of the SUV, and his passenger were uninjured.
