First In String Of Storms Drops Light Rain On Central, South Coast; Bigger Storms To Come
The first in a trio of storms headed to the Central and South Coasts dropped more than an inch of rain in some of the region’s mountains Wednesday and Thursday, but no problems were reported in brush fire burn zones. But, some bigger storms are on the way.
Rainfall amounts along the coast were relatively light, including three quarters of an inch in Santa Barbara, a half inch in Ventura, and just a tenth of an inch in Agoura Hills.
A storm expected to arrive Friday night could bring heavier rainfall to the region, with possibly up to two inches of rain in the mountains and foothills before it clears Saturday afternoon. At this point, there are no watches or warning for brush fire burn areas.
The most impressive of the three storms is expected to arrive Tuesday, but meteorologists say at this point they can’t make any predictions on potential rainfall amounts.
