New Web Portal Launches To Assist Businesses Impacted By Woolsey And Other Wildfires

Businesses that were damaged or destroyed or othewise impacted by the Woolsey and Hill fires can now get the help they need. Secretary of State Alex Padilla has launched a new web portal to provide information and resources to businesses affected by wildfires.

It can be difficult for business owners who have had their business records, insurance and employment and other information lost, damaged or destroyed by a brush fire.

The website, BizDisasterAssistance.sos.ca.gov, is meant to guide business owners to get their business reopened or back on track.  The Secretary of State’s Office oversees business filings and provides pubic access to business records.

The agency has also set up a dedicated email, BizDisasterAssistance@sos.ca.gov, to help provide fire victims with certified copies or copies of filings that are not available online.
