Storm Drops More Than Three Inches Of Rain On Parts Of South Coast, But No Major Problems Reported

The storm system which hit the Central and South Coasts made a big splash in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, but left Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties with light rainfall. Fortunately, no major problems were reported in the Woolsey, Hill, and Thomas brush fire burn areas.

Agoura Hills, which is in the middle of the Woolsey Fire burn zone, had 3.65” of rain. The rain led to some minor debris flows on the Malibu area which closed the Pacific Coast Highway between Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Thursday morning.  It reopened at around 5;30 Thursday night.

In the area around the Hill Fire zone, Newbury Park had 2.17”, and Camarillo 1.21” of rain.

Ventura had just over an inch of rain, while Montecito recorded a quarter of an inch. Solvang, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo each had around a tenth of an inch of rainfall from the storm.
