A massive brush fire burning in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties has grown to 70,000 acres, possibly destroying more than 150 homes.
The Woolsey Fire extends from the Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks areas south to the fringes of the San Fernando Valley, and west to Malibu. Authorities are investigating two deaths in the Malibu area to see if they were a result of the fire.
Firefighters are trying to take advantage of a break in the weather today. The wind has dropped in many areas. Crews are hoping to make major progress towards containment, which is doubly important because we could see a return of Santa Ana wind conditions Sunday through Tuesday.
