Central Coast School District Aide Arrested Following Incident on School Bus

A Central Coast school district aide has been arrested after investigators say he improperly restrained a special needs student on a school bus.

The incident happened October 16th, on a Lompoc Unified School District bus.  Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say a 10 year old student told his parents he had been hurt by someone on the bus.

District officials reviewed video from the bus and reported the incident to investigators.  The child was uninjured.

After being questioned, Arthur Carlos of Santa Maria was arrested for corporal injury on a child.  Detectives say the 52 year old man is a new district employee.
