Cooler Weather (Finally!) On The Way For Central, South Coasts
You might not have noticed much of a difference, but a cooling trend is underway for the Central and South Coasts. High temperatures are still well above normal for many part of the region, but meteorologists say the heat wave has peaked.
Thursday’s highs are two to four degrees cooler than Wednesday’s, with another degree or two drop predicted for Friday. We could see bigger changes along the coast, as the marine layer is starting to become more extensive. Some coastal areas may not have clearing at all Friday. The Red Flag Warning for high fire danger expired Thursday morning.
There is still a raised brush fire danger, but the end of sundowner winds and cooler temperatures are expected to decrease the threat.
