Ventura County has a new Agricultural Commissioner.
County Supervisors appointed Ed Williams to the post. Williams has worked in the agricultural field for three decades. He has been Deputy Director in the Los Angeles County’s Ag Commissioner’s Office.
The 57 year old man will fill the vacancy created by the departure of Henry Gonzales, who left the post earlier this year to become Monterey County’s Agricultural Commissioner.
The position is an important one, with agriculture a more than two billion dollar a year industry in Ventura County.
