Central Coast Radio Talk Show Host Recovering After Being Injured In Weekend March

A popular Central Coast radio talk show host is in a hospital after being hit by a vehicle while taking part in one of the weekend marches to support immigrants.

KVEC afternoon talk show host Dave Congalton suffered a serious leg injury in Saturday’s accident in San Luis Obispo.

The San Luis Obispo broadcaster has one of the longest running shows in the region, recently celebrating his 25th anniversary on their air.

On his Facebook page, he said he underwent surgery on his knee and it went well, and he hopes to be on the air again sooner than later.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
