Mandatory evacuation and warning areas have been expanded in Southern Santa Barbara County as a result of growth of the Thomas Fire Sunday afternoon.

Mandatory evacuations for areas north of Highway 192 in the Carpinteria and Summerland area were expanded west to include a big chunk of Montecito.  The latest addition includes a mandatory evacuation order for Buena Vista Drive to Hot Springs Road north of Highway 192.

A voluntary evacuation warning is in place from Hot Springs Road to Mission Canyon Drive north of Highway 192.  There's also a voluntary order south of Highway 192 from the Ventura County line which includes Carpinteria, and Summerland.

An evacuation center has been set up at UC Santa Barbara's Rec Center.
