Financially Troubled South Coast Museum Gets Cash Infusion

A financially troubled South Coast museum is getting some major support.

The Museum of Ventura County had been seeking some emergency funding to help in its turnaround efforts.

Ventura County pledged $125,000 last month, and the City of Ventura formally committed $125,000 this week. It’s a far cry from the ongoing commitment of millions of dollars in funding the museum had sought from both public agencies, but officials say they want to see how the museum does for the next six months.

The Museum has launched a major reorganization effort to stabilize its resources.
