After Big Storms, South Coast County Eyes Ways To Capture Water Runoff
With every heavy storm, there's talk of finding new ways to capture and store runoff water that heads into the ocean.
Santa Barbara County is looking at options that are possible in some areas without environmental regulation or red tape.
Collecting the water appears to be a viable first step, but storing the water could be challenging.
That would take further study of aboveground reservoirs and underground wells, along with pumping stations.
The impact on water treatment centers is also a consideration.
A full report is expected in the coming weeks.
