Nearly Two Dozen Dogs Seized From Central Coast Home

Santa Barbara County Animal Services officials say they’ve seized nearly two dozen dogs living in a Central Coast home. Officials say they received a tip that there were potentially some abandoned dogs in the Los Alamos home. They got a seizure notice, and a search found 23 dogs at a home they called squalid, and unlivable. Despite what they called poor conditions, they did find that the dogs had adequate food, and water, and were in good condition. The canines received an on-scene assessment and vaccinations, and were taken to the county’s animal facilities for further care. The owner wasn’t home at the time. Animal Services say they have to go through a legal process, but that a number of the dogs will likely be offered for adoption.
