Voters Decide State Senate, Assembly Races On Central And South Coasts

Central and South Coast voters settled some State Senate, and State Assembly races yesterday.

Voters picked a successor for Democratic State Senator Fran Pavley of Agoura Hills, who is leaving after two terms in office.

Democrat Henry Stern defeated Republican Steve Fazio for the 27th District seat. In the 19th District State Senate race, Democratic incumbent Hannah-Beth Jackson of Santa Barbara is returning for a second term, after beating Republican Colin Patrick Walch by a 62% to 38% margin.

In State Assembly races, Monique Limon took the 37th District seat, defeating Edward Fuller by a 36% margin.  In the 44th District, Democratic Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin of Thousand Oaks is returning for a second term, with a 58% to 42% victory over challenger Kerry Nelson.
