Ventura County to replace Fire Station Number 27 in Fillmore, which was built in 1952

The final approval has been given towards replacement of a more than half century old fire station on the South Coast.

Ventura County officials have awarded an eight million dollar contract to build a new fire station in Fillmore.

The 15,000 square foot building will be triple the size of the existing facility, which was built in the 1950’s. It will be built on a nearly three acre vacant lot near the intersection of Highway 126, and C Street in Fillmore.

Plans call for construction to start this fall, with the facility ready for use in the first part of 2018.
