Firefighters now have 75% containment of a brush fire northwest of Ventura which caused a scare yesterday, when it threatened some structures. The fire was discovered just before 2 p.m. yesterday near Casitas Vista Road. Wind quickly blew the flames out of control, but firefighters aided by helicopters were able to stop it at around 50 acres. More than 130 firefighters are continuing mopup efforts today. They’re hoping to have it fully contained by the end of the day. No structures were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
