Latest COVID-19 Case Count For Central, South Coasts On Low Side

The downward trend continues in the region, with Ventura County now in the Orange reopening tier.

Less than a hundred new COVID-19 cases were reported on the Central and South Coasts Wednesday.

Ventura County had 27 additional cases, Santa Barbara County 28, and San Luis Obispo County 22.

San Luis Obispo County announced it has opened up vaccinations immediately to everyone 16 and older, more than week ahead of the state’s schedule.

Two additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the region. Both were in Ventura County. It brings the county’s total to 989, with 1686 deaths overall in the Tri-Counties since the start of the pandemic.

While Ventura County has moved from the more liberal Orange reopening tier, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties haven't met the state's criteria yet, and remain in the red tier.
