231 Additional COVID-19 Cases Confirmed On Central, South Coasts; Seven Additional Deaths Reported

The number of new COVID-19 cases on the Central and South Coasts continues to remain low, but we still aren’t at the point where we will see new reopenings.  231 were reported in the region Tuesday.

Ventura County had 135, Santa Barbara County 29 and San Luis Obispo County 67.  We’ve had nearly 130,800 cases since the start of the pandemic.

The COVID-19 related death toll rose by seven in the region Tuesday, with six reported in Ventura County, and one in San Luis Obispo County.

Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties still remain in the state’s most restrictive purple tier for reopenings. But, officials in both counties are hoping the numbers will improve enough for a move to red this month.
