Two Additional Coronavirus Related Deaths Reported On Central, South Coasts
Two new coronavirus related deaths have been reported on the Central and South Coasts. Santa Barbara County had the two latest deaths.
There have now been 326 deaths in the region since the start of the pandemic, with 166 in Ventura County, 128 in Santa Barbara County, and 32 in San Luis Obispo County. Most of the deaths are older adults with preexisting conditions.
144 new coronavirus cases were reported in the three counties on Friday. There were 85 in Ventura County; 26 in Santa Barbara County and 33 in San Luis Obispo County. All three counties remain in the state’s red tier for reopenings, which is the second highest level.
There have been 28,652 cases in the region since the start of the coronavirus crisis. Ventura County has had 14,410, Santa Barbara County 9944, and San Luis Obispo County 4298.
