The latest new coronavirus case count continues to remain on the lower side of the spectrum on the Central and South Coasts, especially when compared with surges in other parts of the country.
136 new cases were reported in the three counties Thursday. There were 78 in Ventura County, 33 in Santa Barbara County, and 25 in San Luis Obispo County. Keeping the new case count low is key for the counties to get state clearance to advance to the next level of reopenings.
More than 28,500 cases of been documented in the region since the start of the pandemic. Most of those diagnosed have already recovered.
No new deaths were reported in the region Thursday, with the death toll currently at 324.
