After so much bad news about job losses related to the coronavirus crisis on the Central and South Coasts, one city has some big positive news.
The City of Oxnard says it’s reached an agreement with Amazon which will bring more than 1500 new full-time jobs to the community. The giant online retailer will open a fulfillment center in the Sakioka Farms Business Park in Oxnard.
Plans call for construction of a state of the art facility which will use robotic systems to handle packages being delivered in the region.
Construction is expected to begin later this month, with the goal to have the new facility up and running next year.
