300th Coronavirus Death Reported On Central, South Coasts

We’ve hit a grim coronavirus milestone on the Central and South Coasts.  One additional coronavirus death was reported over the weekend in Ventura County, bringing the region’s total since the start of the pandemic to 300 people.

There have been 154 deaths in Ventura County, 115 in Santa Barbara County and 31 in San Luis Obispo County.  Most of the deaths involved adults with pre-existing health conditions.

229 new coronavirus cases were reported Saturday through Monday.  They include 102 in Ventura County, 70 in Santa Barbara County and 57 in San Luis Obispo County. 

More than 26,100 coronavirus cases have been reported in the three counties since the start of the pandemic.  Ventura County is up to 13,045, Santa Barbara County 9319, and San Luis Obispo County 3742. Most of those diagnosed with the virus have already recovered.
