Six new coronavirus related deaths are being reported on the Central and South Coasts. Ventura County had three new deaths, Santa Barbara County two, and San Luis Obispo County one.
Ventura County has had 141 deaths since the start of the pandemic, Santa Barbara County 109, and San Luis Obispo County 27. More than three quarters of the deaths were older adults with pre-existing health conditions.
216 new coronavirus cases were reported in the three county region yesterday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to more than 23,900. Most of those diagnosed with the virus have already recovered.
Ventura County has had 11,842 cases, Santa Barbara County 8785, and San Luis Obispo County 3316. All three counties remain at the state’s purple ranking for recovery, which is the furthest level from full reopening.
