The number of coronavirus related deaths on the Central and South Coasts now stands at 183. Ventura County has had 93 deaths, Santa Barbara County 73, and San Luis Obispo County 17.
The total number of diagnosed cases in the region since the start of the coronavirus crisis is now close to 18,100. Most of those diagnosed with the virus have already recovered.
San Luis Obispo County Public Health officials are working with the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo to control a COVID-19 outbreak at the prison. About 120 people have been diagnosed with the virus there, including about a dozen staff members.
