The latest edition of a nearly half century old air show on the South Coasts is being canceled due to the coronavirus crisis.
Naval Base Ventura County officials made the decision based on ongoing health concerns related to the virus.
The 2020 airshow was set to feature the “Blue Angels,” the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration team, plus other military and civilian aerial performances. Because the featured teams are in such high demand, they are booked well in advance, so it could be years before the next show occurs.
The two-day October airshow had been expected to bring more than 100,000 spectators to the Ventura County military facility.
