16 Confirmed/Presumptive Positive Coronavirus Cases Now On Central, South Coasts

The number of coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts continues to grow, with 16 confirmed or probable cases in the region.  Ventura County is reporting one confirmed and 10 presumtive positives.  San Luis Obispo County is reporting three cases, and Santa Barbara County two.

State and county health nfficials are now calling for all restaurants to end on-site dining, and operate on a takeout basis as a result of the coronavirus crisis. The state also reiterated its call for the closure of places like bars and nightclubs. The timing couldn’t be worse, because Tuesday is St. Patrick’s Day, a day which traditionally means big business.

Don Zacanino owns Old Kings Road, one of the most popular bars in downtown Santa Barbara. He says it's traditionally one of the biggest days of the year for his bar.  But, he says while the shutdown is hard, he agrees the public good comes first.
