There's quite a transition taking place in Isla Vista this week.

After the end of summer break, students have started returning in big numbers for the start of the new school year.

Over the weekend, thousands of freshman descended on campus to their dorms, and off campus as well.

Many of the upperclassmen arrived with stuffed cars, hauling trucks, and in some cases, with friends and parents to help.

Isla Vista is one of the most densely populated areas in the region, with over 25,000 permanent and student residents living there during the school year.
