A woman and a dog died in a Saturday morning traffic collision in the Santa Ynez Valley.

CHP trying to sort out what led to deaths in Santa Ynez Valley.

CHP investigators are trying to figure out what led to a fatal Central Coast traffic collision which left a woman, and her dog dead.

It happened at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, on Highway 246 just east of Santa Ynez.

Both the woman and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene. There’s no word on exactly what led to the collision.

The woman’s name hasn’t been released yet.
