A legendary Central Coast restaurant has been hit by fire.

The blaze hit Pea Soup Anderson's Restaurant in Buellton at around midnight Sunday. Someone passing by saw flames coming from the building's roof.

Fortunately, Santa Barbara County firefighters knocked down the blaze in just a few minutes, before it could cause major damage. The restaurant was open again on Monday.

There's no word on the cause of the blaze.

Anderson's has been a favorite of locals and travelers for decades. It's preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2024.
