There's been an estimated 2400 gallon sewage spill in eastern Ventura County.

Blockage in sewage line blamed for accident in Moorpark.

A sewer main blockage caused a major spill into a Ventura County creek.

It happened Tuesday morning, in Moorpark. A Ventura County Water and Sanitation District line backed up on the 4000 block of Moorpark Avenue, in Moorpark.

An estimated 2400 gallons of sewage flowed out of a manhole, and into the street’s storm water drainage system.

The sewage ended up in Arroyo Simi Creek, which is a 19 mile long waterway in eastern Ventura County. Crews cleaned up as much of the sewage as possible, but warnings have been posted for people to stay out of the creek downstream.
