Yikes! More rain on the way for the Tri-Counties

An inch of new rain is predicted for coastal and inland areas, with up to three inches for the foothills and mountains.

Even as recovery efforts continue from this week’s big storm, more rain is on the way for the Tri-Counties.

The first part of a new storm is expected to arrive Friday, with part two coming Saturday. Coastal and inland areas are expected to get about an inch of rain through Sunday, with foothills, and mountains getting two to three inches.

The rainfall isn’t expected to be heavy enough to cause major new flooding, but it could complicate cleanup that’s underway from this week’s big storm. The rain is expected to be below flood stage for creeks and rivers.

There’s another storm arriving Monday night. At this point, meteorologists say it appears rainfall amounts will be in line with what we see over the weekend, with around an inch of rain in most coastal and inland areas.
