A foodbank has announced plans for a big food giveaway for those in need in Santa Barbara County, just in time for Christmas and New Year’s.
Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will do two events on Friday.
In Santa Barbara, people will be able to pick up food from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Franklin Elementary School. And, in Santa Maria, people will be able to get food from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Foodbank Warehouse, on the 400 block of Foster Road.
Again, both events are on Friday. Foodbank officials caution that while the giveaways are scheduled to go until 1:30 p.m., a similar giveaway at Thanksgiving ended early because they ran out of food.
