But, planned Tuesday SpaceX launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base could now take place as soon as Wednesday.

A planned rocket launch from the Central Coast has been postponed for a second time.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was set for takeoff from Vandenberg Space Force Base Monday afternoon, but the company announced it was putting the launch on hold to allow more time for some preflight checks. It was moved to Tuesday. But now, there’s word it’s going to be delayed a second time.

With a planned manned SpaceX launch from Florida Wednesday morning, company officials say there’s just too much activity underway. The new plan is to launch the Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.

The rocket’s payload is 52 Starlink satellites. They are part of a growing network of small satellites intended to provide internet service to underserved areas.
