Ten year sentence possible for Santa Barbara County man.

A Santa Barbara County man has entered guilty pleas to charges stemming from a head on crash on Highway 101 in Ventura County which left one person dead, and two others injured.

The collision happed last December, in Ventura. CHP officers say Jesus Manuel Calles was driving under the influence when he was headed southbound in the northbound Highway 101 lanes.

He smashed into one car, which was then hit by a second. The 18-year-old driver of the first car was killed, and the driver of the second vehicle was injured. A passenger in Calles car was also hurt.

He pled guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and two other counts. Ventura County prosecutors say they expect he’ll receive a ten year prison sentence when he’s sentenced in September.
