Blaze briefly threatened a building, forcing its evacuation.

Santa Barbara County firefighters quickly knocked down a brush fire which forced the evacuation of a building, and startled people driving by on Highway 101 on the Central Coast.

The fire was discovered during the noon hour on Friday just off of northbound Highway 101 on the Nojoqui Grade, outside of Buellton.

Firefighters aided by helicopter water drops were able to protect the one structure in the area. They stopped the two to three acre blaze in about an hour.

No damage was reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
