The U.S. has been imposing a number of sanctions on Russia because of its war on Ukraine. Now, a Congressman representing the Central and South Coasts says he’s been sanctioned by Russia because of his work to try to end the war.

In a statement on Twitter, Democratic Congressman Salud Carbajal of Santa Barbara said he has never been prouder to stand with Ukraine.

Russia's Foreign Ministry this week announced sanctions against 398 members of the U.S. House.

It's a response to U.S. sanctions last month for 328 members of the Russian Duma, which is one of that country’s main legislative bodies.
