Ventura County firefighters are still trying to put out a massive blaze which destroyed a hotel under construction in Camarillo.

The blaze started just after 7 p.m. Tuesday off of Ventura Boulevard, near Las Posas Road in Camarillo. The four story hotel was being built just south of Highway 101, between the freeway and the boulevard.

More than 110 firefighters battled the blaze. At one point last night, Highway 101 was closed and traffic was rerouted because of concern about power lines across the roadway.

Firefighters continue efforts on Wednesday to put out a fire which destroyed an under construction Camarillo hotel.

Firefighters got the upper hand on the blaze in a few hours, but because the building was reduced to a giant pile of wood, it has continued to burn. It could be Thursday before it is completely extinguished.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
