Oxnard Police say they seized weapons, ammunition following a car chase Sunday night.

Multiple weapons seized; no one hurt.

It started as an effort to stop a car for a traffic violation on the South Coast. But, it led to a car chase, traffic accident, and even a foot pursuit by officers.

Oxnard Police tried to stop a car for a traffic violation just after 9 p.m. Sunday on Saviers Road. The car didn't stop, and the driver fled the scene. There was a brief chase, which ended a few blocks away when the car was involved in a traffic collision.

Two passengers fled on foot, but were arrested nearby. Officers say they found a semi-automatic pistol dumped by the fleeing men. The driver of the car surrendered, telling officers he was armed. They say he had a loaded pistol in his waistband.

A teenager in the car was released to his parents. The three Ventura men are facing a variety of charges from resisting arrest to possession of a loaded firearm.
