Food bank serving Central, South Coasts gets grant which will allow it to provide 800,000 meals.

Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is getting a major donation allowing it to serve an additional needy 800,000 people in the region.

Bank donates $100,000 as part of program thanking employees for getting COVID-19 vaccinations.

A foodbank serving the Central and South Coasts has received a major donation which will allow it to provide an additional 800,000 meals to those in need.

Bank of America is giving Foodbank of Santa Barbara County $100,000.

The bank is doing it in honor of its employees in the county who have received COVID-19 vaccinations.

Foodbank officials say since the start of the pandemic, they’ve distributed more than 30 million pounds of food to more than 200,000 people. They say for every dollar donated, they can leverage that into eight meals for the community.
