New COVID-19 cases at record levels on the Central and South Coasts

The latest new COVID-19 case counts shows the virus is expanding at alarming levels on the Central and South Coasts.

4,600+ additional cases reported in the Tri-Counties since Wednesday.

The COVID-19 surge is bringing the Central and South Coasts some of its highest daily case numbers since the start of the pandemic.

Public health officials say the new COVID-19 case numbers for the region reported on Friday are very worrisome. Since Wednesday, more than 4,600 new cases have been reported in the Tri-Counties.

Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties have had their highest numbers during the entire pandemic. Since Wednesday, Santa Barbara County reported 2,364 new cases. San Luis Obispo County had 1067 additional cases.

And, the total since Wednesday for Ventura County is 912 more cases.

12 additional COVID-19 related deaths have also been reported in the Tri-Counties.
